Korean semiconductor supplier SK Hynix announced that it has established a new R&D center, SK Hynix Flash Solutions Taiwan Ltd., in Taiwan, targeting the rapidly growing eMMC (Embedded MultiMediaCard) and SSD (Solid State Drive) markets, as reported by Taiwan's Economic Daily News on October 15. Located in Hsinchu, Taiwan's hub of IT industry, the new R&D center will focus on boosting the efficiency of the company's high added-value NAND flash memory products and shoulder the responsibility to provide technological support to customers in Taiwan and China.
